Full Description
Sections of disused roads and/or trackways within Tarrant Rushton Airfield are visible as cropmarks and ruined structures on 1940s aerial photographs and on APGB 2001 imagery [1, 2]. The features comprise part of a road or trackway leading from Tarrant Rushton past the former Rushton Farm and a trackway to the east of this, all recorded on the OS 1st Edition map. A kink in one of the former road/trackway sections indicates the northeast corner of the former farmstead. The section of road or trackway between Tarrant Rushton and the edge of Tarrant Rushton Airfield still survives. Some sections of the former road/trackway are still visible on 2001 APGB imagery. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
