Full Description
An extensive area of banked linear and curvilinear features are visible as earthworks to the south and north of East and West Hemsworth, Witchampton, on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features extend over an area of over 3km by 2km and may be part of an extensive field system, of potentially later prehistoric date, although a later, perhaps medieval, origin for some features is also possible. The features may form part, or be a continuous extension, of similar field systems to the south (MDO43998) and north (MDO43422). They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
