Summary

Three deep hollows are visible as earthworks to the northeast of Deans Leaze Farm, Witchampton, on current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are shown as tree-filled copses on the OS 1st Edition map but may be disused post medieval quarries - an old chalk pit is recorded just to the south, also on the OS 1st Edition map. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

Three deep hollows are visible as earthworks to the northeast of Deans Leaze Farm, Witchampton, on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features are shown as tree-filled copses on the OS 1st Edition map but may be disused post medieval quarries - an old chalk pit is recorded just to the south, also on the OS 1st Edition map [2]. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
