Monument record MDO4536 - Barrow on Okeford Hill, Okeford Fitzpaine

A mound situated on a spur of Okeford Hill, and interpreted as a probable round barrow. In 1970 this monument was reported as being around 60 feet in diameter with a mound about three feet high. The feature is visible as a low banked earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.

ST 81140996 A probable bowl barrow. <1>

ST 81130998 A well preserved turf covered bowl barrow; diameter 18.0m, height 0.9m, there is no visible ditch. The mound is sited in a false crest position, astride a steep-sided narrow spur. Not visible on OS air photograph <3.1>.

The feature is visible as a low banked earthwork approximately 14m in diameter on current Environment Agency lidar imagery (EA 2018) and was digitally plotted during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
