Summary

A Post Medieval tree enclosure ring is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 but has subsequently been levelled and is then visible as cropmarks. The site comprises an oval enclosure plus an amorphous area of spoil to the north-east. The oval is orientated south-west / north-east and measures 40m long by 26m wide. It is defined by a narrow bank and an external narrow ditch. The oval contains three small mounds. These and the amorphous spoil heap to the north-east could be the result of clearing the enclosure of its trees, which are shown within the oval on the 1887 Ordnance Survey map. A similar tree enclosure ring is situated circa 600m to the east but is still extant.
