Full Description
A ring ditch and other features are visible as cropmarks on air photographs taken April 15th 2002. There appear to be faint ditches passing either side of the ring ditch, while other features in the vicinity may represent field boundaries or enclosures. <1> <3>
A possible Bronze Age round barrow is visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs, on Abbeycroft Down, Tarrant Rushton <1,2>. The feature is visible as an approximately 10m in diameter mound with an approximately 1.5m wide outer ditch on an aerial photograph dated 1946 <1> and later as a ring ditch cropmark on an aerial photograph dated 2002 <2>. It forms part of a group of features recorded under NRHE Hob UID 1403297. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
