Full Description
A linear ditched and banked hollow way or trackway is visible as an earthwork to the southeast of Tarrant Monkton on aerial photographs and current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1-3]. The feature comprises a linear ditch with flanking sections of bank, which runs from north to south for around 1.15km, cutting a possible later prehistoric or medieval hollow way (MDO45223) at its southern end. It may also be a trackway of later prehistoric or medieval date, although a later, possibly post medieval, origin is also possible. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
