Full Description

A section of the parish boundary between Tarrant Rushton and Tarrant Rawston is visible as ditched linear earthworks on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The boundary passes through a medieval deer park (MDO5158), although it is not certain whether or how this feature might relate to the deer park - it is possible it may have formed the north side of the park at some point, although the deer park appears to extend northwards beyond the boundary to encompass Stubbs Copse so this would have been either an earlier form of the park, or a later reduction of it, if it is related at all. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
