Full Description

In the Medieval period there were six manors in Loders, the principal settlements being Lower Loders (now Loders), Loders Maltravers and Uploders. It is suggested that settlement expanded in a ribbon along the Loders Brook, to form a continous settlement, a process reversed by shrinkage at a later period. <1>
