Full Description

In 1983, a Saxon stone fragment, possibly the top of a cross-shaft, was found in a heap of building rubble adjacent to the tower of Holy Trinity Church. It is made of oolite, and the depth of incision is reminiscent of Shaftesbury Abbey 6 or Gillingham 1. Probably 8th-9th century.
