Summary
Hooke Parke is owned and operated by the Parnham Trust, an educational charity established in 1977, one of the charity's aims is to provide training in practical skills. The buildings on the site are part of a series of experiments in the use of green softwood forestry thinnings and low grade hardwoods for making buildings. A number of experimental timber buildings have been constructed since 1985 and a prorotype house structure, a student residential building, was built in November 1995. At the entrance to the park is a sculpture by Andy Goldsworthy.
