Summary

At Barton Street, now called Barton Hill, stood the church or chapel of St. Michael. It was possibly first recorded in 1302. The exact site of it is unknown and there are now no known remains. It was demolished by circa 1500.

Full Description

At Barton Hill, formerly called Barton Street, stood the church or chapel of St. Michael, of which there are no remains. It was a free chapel within the parish of Holy Trinity but it is not mentioned in the Sarum Registers. <1>

Barton Hill is centred st:- ST 86562321, and in a built up area. No trace was found of any remains of the chapel. <2>

St. Michael's Chapel at Barton Street, possibly first mentioned in 1302, the exact site of which is unknown. It was demolished by circa 1500. <3>
