Full Description

All Saints Church: Mentioned in the Nona Rolls; list of Rectors from 1299 to 1423.

Bishop Chandler's Register describes the lack of any income for this church, so that it could not support a chaplain. No service had been held for a long time and since it was close to St James it was to be united with that church.

All Saints' was a parochial chapel or church. In 1461 the name occurs in a legal case and it is probable that some part of the church then remained. In 1299 the church of St. Edward the Martyr was consolidated to All Saints (ST 82 SE 30).

On the south side of St. James's Street are two large ancient doors, of two houses, which might belong to the churches of All Saints and St. Edwards's. <1>

No further information was obtained during field investigation and the doors referred to in Authy. <1> were not traced. <2>

All Saints Church, first mentioned 1283, had disappeared by 1500. <3>
