Full Description
An area of later prehistoric field system to the east of Tarrant Launceston is visible as linear banked earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features extend over an area approximately 1.3km by 1.3km square and may include in part a field system recorded under MDO5090 and NRHE Hob UID 209273. The features comprise wide linear and curvilinear banks that form partial irregular and rectilinear enclosures of a co-axial nature, aligned broacdly southwest to northeast. A ditched linear feature flanked by linear banks may be part of a trackway or possible cross dyke. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
