Known as STRODE MANOR FARM and once owned by the GALLOPS of GALLUP POLL fame. It was a manor house but sometime in the 19th cent there was a fire. The GALLOPS then built and moved to STRODE MANOR PLACE [for which See Dorset 29 SW 2]

A well preserved but unoccupied stone built farm house. In the north are brick lean-to outhouses and adjoining the house in the west is a barn which has been partially converted into living quarters. The roof is part stone tiles and partly modern slate. Only one main period of building could be traced.

The pigeon house is similar in construction and roofing to the houses. It is of two stories with pigeon boxes in the upper gable ends and with no exit except by windows on the East & West lower floor and a doorway in the North. The walls are 0.8m thick and there is no dateable feature. <4>
