Summary

Two cottages built in the seventeenth century, combined to make a farmhouse in the eighteenth century. The building has walls of rubble and cob, and a thatched roof. Surviving features of the interior are reported to include a plank-and-muntin partition and stone fireplace.

Full Description

Way Farm, 17th and 18th century, is of rubble and cob with a thatched roof. The north wing has a plank and muntin partition and a stone fireplace with four-centred head. <2>

Way Farm was formerly two 17th century cottages, joined together in the 18th century. There is an original fireplace in the north building. <3>

Way Farm (name confirmed by occupier) was once two cottages but is now one house (a). It is as described above by Authorities 2 and 3, and is well-preserved, but lacking external features of dateable antiquity. <4>
