Full Description

Slape Manor, mid 17th century, partly rebuilt early 18th century. <1>

Slape House, of rubble with two storeys, attics and cellars, formerly belonged to the Strode family, and although rebuilt early in the 18th century incorporates the remains of a 17th century house at the east end, including some three-light windows and a doorway with a four-centred head. <2>

A large well preserved residence retaining some mullioned windows and drip stones. It shows extensive traces of Georgian alterations, particularly on the north face. According to the owner, the house is known as 'Slape Manor' and although it was modernized in 1730, a large part of the fabric belongs to the 17th century house. <3>
