Full Description

South Bowood Farm is a two-storeyed 17th century house of squared and coursed rubble with a thatched roof. The south front retains its original stone-mullioned windows, still with old metal casements and catches. There is a continuous string course over the lower range, and over the western window is a sundial with the date 1665.

The barn to the west of the house is of the same period, rubble and thatched with moulded stone slits. The date panel '1813' refers to repairs. <2-3>

Known as South Bowood Dairy Farm (a); a well-preserved farmhouse essentially of one period with minor additions. Details are as given by Authorities 2 and 3.

The barn referred to is situated a SY 44189850. <4>
