Monument record MDO45058 - Iron Age Irregular enclosure, Gussage All Saints

Please read our .

Summary

An irregular enclosure visible as a cropmark on air photographs. Circa 1.2 hectares in extent, the enclosure features an east facing entrance. The ditched facade flanking the entrance features a triple line of ditches, squared off at the entrance; itself producing a well-defined "funnel" approach. The remainder of the enclosure circuit is represented by a single ditch only. Pits are visible as cropmark features within the enclosed area. By analogy with other sites in the vicinity, the site is assumed to be of Iron Age date.
