Listed Building record MDO4503 - Churchyard Cross, St Mary's Church, Motcombe

The base of a fifteenth century cross, consisting of the stump of an octagonal shaft with run-out stops on square base block. The whole is on a base of two steps.

Medieval churchyard cross as described by the RCHM; dating probably from 14th century (church noticeboard). The socket stone measures 0.9m square and 0.4m in height. The shaft fragment stands 0.7m high and is 0.3m thick. The larger of the two steps is 2.6m square. 1:2500 Published survey correct. (Phillips 1977)
