Full Description
A series of unannotated hollows are marked on the Ordnance Survey 5th edition map [1] to the east of France Farm, Pimperne. They are considered likely to be the sites of post medieval chalk pits. A large hollow is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery [2] extending southwards from these hollows, it is considered to be later extension of the early 20th century quarrying. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
