Full Description
A sub-circular fenced enclosure on the northwest side of Blandford Camp is visible on 1940s aerial photographs [1-3].
The feature comprises a 137m by 100m oval enclosure with an entrance on its southeast side. Within the enclosure are curvilinear earthworks that may be practice trenches used for military training purposes. The enclosure may be a Second World War barbed wire entanglement, possibly used for military training. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project. Two partial enclosures of similar character and probable function are visible to the north and west, recorded under MDO5006 and MDO5008.
