Full Description

Some fragments of the Abbey Grange, including a 15th century window are incorporated in the farm near the manor-house (SY 39 NE 10) at Wotton Abbas. The manor formed part of the lands of Abbotsbury Abbey. <1>

Higher Abbots Wootton Farm is a 15th century two-storey stone-built building with a modern addition on the west. The roof is of collar-beam type and the kitchen has moulded ceiling beams. The south front retains an original doorway with four-centred arch and an original window of four trefoiled lights. <3>

The house is as described above. It is believed to have had connections with Forde Abbey. <4>
