Full Description

Mr P Fowler pointed out many pieces of Romano-British pottery on the surface near the ford north of Poyntington Manor but no actual site can as yet be determined. <1-2>

The site is in a low-lying grass covered field. A few fragments of late brick, but nothing of archaeological interest was found. No visible traces of antiquity. <3>

Dredged material, resulting from a regrading of the stream course between ST 65052040 and the ford at ST 65072026, contains much post Md building and domestic refuse. No finds of RB date were made in the area. <4>
