Full Description
Fragments of a later prehistoric field system are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery in fields surrounding The Bushes Linhay, Bryanston (1). The features cover an area of 147 hectares and were digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project. They are associated with (and likely to be contemporarty with) the Iron Age/Romano British settlement described in MDO3628. To the west of the settlement, the field system has regular, parallel pattern which may indicate a later reuse in the medieval period as part of a strip field system. The field system is part of a much wider field system which includes MDO3767 to the north and MDO3629 to the south.
