Summary

Eleven subcircular hollows are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery scattered across the field to the south Field Groves, Winterborne Strickland. They are between 10m and 35m across and two are associated with spoilheaps. The features are likely to be post medieval chalk pits and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Eleven subcircular hollows are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery scattered across the field to the south Field Groves, Winterborne Strickland [1]. They are between 10m and 35m across and two are associated with spoilheaps. The features are likely to be post medieval chalk pits and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
