Summary

A large area of shallow extraction is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the northeast of Stickland Hill Farm, Stickland. The feature is considered to be the result of surface extraction (possibly peat or turf cutting) and covers an area of 0.03 hectares. It is still extant on lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Full Description

A large area of shallow extraction is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the northeast of Stickland Hill Farm, Stickland [1]. The feature is considered to be the result of surface extraction (possibly peat or turf cutting) and covers an area of 0.03 hectares. It is still extant on lidar imagery [2] and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
