Summary

Strip lynchets visible on aerial photographs. The remains of four possible lynchets are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery on the north-facing slopes to the west of Little Hewish Farm, Milton Abbas; they were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Down AIM.

Full Description

Centred at ST 801000. A series of grass covered Medieval strip lynchets. The lynchets are from 0.3m. to 1.5m. high, parallel and regularly spaced. <1>

The remains of four possible lynchets are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery on the north-facing slopes to the west of Little Hewish Farm, Milton Abbas; they were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Down AIM. (EA 2023)
