Summary

Two small extractive pits are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery in the fields immediately to the south of Free Down Border, Durweston. The features are 14m and 22m across and are considered likely to be post medieval chalk pits. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Two small extractive pits are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery in the fields immediately to the south of Free Down Border, Durweston [1]. The features are 14m and 22m across and are considered likely to be post medieval chalk pits. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
