Full Description
Roman remains and lime kilns at Horchester (ST 5903). <1>
A field filled with pits is visible by the railway between Evershot station and Spring Pond (ST 599045). Unlikely theories ascribe the site to Roman lime pits or an Iron Age village. According to a farmer, a branch road led from the main Roman road (RR 47) up to this field, but could not be traced beyond
it. <2>
