Late Bronze Age torcs and armlets reported to have been found near Holywell during the construction of the Great Western and Weymouth Railway. These objects are now in the British Museum.

Full Description

[MARGINAL] "Two bronze torques of similar form and size [as ST 70 SE 2] with two bronze armlets, both uniform in size and pattern, were found at Holywell, near Evershot, during the time of making the great Western and Weymouth Railway These are also in Mr Durden's Museum...". <1>

No information was obtained in the vicinity of Holywell. <2?

"The Holywell torcs and bracelets are..in our collection, and one of each is illustrated in our "Later Prehistoric Antiquities" fig. 13, Nos. 2 & 3. The torcs are, I think, a Scandinavian type and of the Late Bronze Age. The [B.M.] acquisition numbers are 54, 8-17, 1-4. <3>
