Full Description
A scatter of 24 small sub-circular extractive pits are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery on the eastern side of Bonsley Common and into Hillcombe Coppice, Shillingstone [1]. The features are between 5m and 9m across and fairly evenly spaced (50-100m apart). They are considered to be post medieval in date, possibly chalk pits or lime pits. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
