A line of extractive pits are marked on the Ordnance Survey 5th edition map within Eastcombe Wood, Shillingstone. They are possibly associated with the construction of the trackway which runs southwestward from Gain's Cross. They are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

A line of extractive pits are marked on the Ordnance Survey 5th edition map within Eastcombe Wood, Shillingstone [1]. They are possibly associated with the construction of the trackway which runs southwestward from Gain's Cross. They are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery [2] and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
