Full Description
A line of extractive pits are marked on the Ordnance Survey 5th edition map within Eastcombe Wood, Shillingstone [1]. They are possibly associated with the construction of the trackway which runs southwestward from Gain's Cross. They are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery [2] and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
