Full Description
An undated elongated mound is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery on Shillingston Hill, Shillingston <1>; it is 28m by 4m in size and flanked by two parallel ditches. It lies in close proxiomity to the settlement described in MDO4678 and may be a contemporary feature; alternatively it could be the site of a medieval or post medieval pillow mound or even a Neolithic long barrow. It is marked on the OS 1st edition map <2> and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
