Full Description

An iron spearhead and ring of shaft, length 11 1/2 inches, found on Beaminster Down (ST 4903), now in Dorset County Museum, acc. no. 1946-34-1. Presented by Mrs H B Hine of Bank House, Beaminster. <1>

A large part of the collection of the late R. Hine, some finds dating back to 1874, was presented to Dorset County Museum by his widow when he died. Beaminster Down is mainly grass-covered. There were no surface finds. <2>
