Full Description
Site of Presbyterian chapel at Blackdown. A society, possibly originating with John Pinney, ejected in 1661 from his post as vicar of Broadmayne, occupied a meeting house on this site throughout the 18th century. Little is known about the building or congregation, although Joseph Paul, minister in 1775, was an Arian who used the `Liverpool liturgy'. The site was sold circa 1839 to Anglican seceders from Venn Chapel, who erected a chapel of ease dedicated to the Holy Trinity on the site. <1>
