Summary

A sub-circular mound is visible as earthworks on aerial photohraphs and lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project. It lies on the east side of Shillingston Hill, within the later prehistoric field system described in MDO4682, and is potentially the site of a Bronze Age round barrow.

Full Description

A sub-circular mound is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery [1-2] and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project. It is 8m across and lies on the east side of Shillingston Hill, within the later prehistoric field system described in MDO4682; it is potentially the site of a Bronze Age round barrow.
