Full Description
A partial ring ditch is visible as a cropmark to the west of Luton Farm, Tarrant Rawston, on aerial photographs [1]. The feature is just over 19m wide by 23m long and has slightly irregular sides with no obvious eastern portion. It is situated on the east side of a possible settelement site of potential Iron Age to Roman date and may be part of a small curvilinear enclosure associated with this site, but it could alternatively be part of an earlier feature, perhaps a barrow of late Neolithic to Bronze Age date. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
