Full Description
A ditched sub-oval ditched feature with a ditched and banked linear feature extending southwest from its southwest side is visible as cropmarks to the east of Blandford Camp, Tarrant Monkton, on aerial photographs dated 1968 [1]. The feature appears to comprise a sub-oval enclosure measuring approximately 13m by 94m, with possibly a contemporary trackway or field boundary adjacent to the southwest. The feature may be a late prehistoric enclosure of potentially Iron Age to Roman date, possibly part of a wider area of field systems (MDO44560) and settlement features (MDO44561) to the southeast, including a possible Iron Age banjo enclosure (MDO42508). It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
