Full Description
A sub-oval cropmark is visible to the east of Blandford Camp, Tarrant Monkton, on aerial photographs [1]. The feature appears to comprise a possible partial ring ditch encompassing a central elongated oval mound and may be a long or oval barrow of possible late Neolithic date. The feature is located on the south side of a possible later prehistoric settlement (MDO44561) and may be cut on the south west and southeast sides by pit-like features associated with this (although these may be later extractive features, or possibly even geological in origin). The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
