Full Description
A possible medieval droveway surviving as cropmarks as seen on Historic England aerial reconnaissance photographs taken on 16th July 2013. It forms a T-Junction between a stretch of droveway oriented north-west/south-east, observable for 240m between ST 6058 1462 and ST 6079 1453, and a stretch of droveway to the north-east of this that is oriented north-east/south-west, and observable for 110m between ST 6074 1467 and the junction at ST 6066 1461. To the south and west of the droveway are the cropmarks of a field system formed of regular rectangular fields possibly of post-medieval date. This field system appears to respect the droveway as a pre-existing feature, with cropmarks suggesting some realignment of this droveway, indicating that the droveway is medieval or earlier. <1>
