Full Description
ST 86292292. The Fish Cross stood a little to the west of the Town Hall. The building had a lead roof and was in existence about 1780. (Willis's plan depicts the building as a rectangular and oriented NE-SW. It is described as 'Fish Cross'. Upjohn's Plan of Shaftesbury 1799, does not show the building, so that it seems to have been removed between 1780 & 1799). <1-3>
The site falls in a built up area and no visible trace of the Fish Cross remains. <4>
