Monument record MDO44448 - Prehistoric or Roman settlement and/or fields near the village of Bradford Abbas

Possible Prehistoric or Roman settlement and/or fields, are partially visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. These comprise the western and southern sides of two, possibly conjoined, ditch defined enclosures. They measure 75m by 30m and 45m by 90m. They are situated on a south facing slope, overlooking the Yeo Valley near the village of Bradford Abbas.

Possible Prehistoric or Roman settlement and/or fields, are partially visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. These comprise the western and southern sides of two, possibly conjoined, ditch defined enclosures. They measure 75m by 30m and 45m by 90m. They are centred at ST 5852 1493.

They are situated on a south facing slope, between 65m and 75m above OD, overlooking the Yeo Valley near the village of Bradford Abbas.

The cropmarks were interpreted and mapped during an English Heritage project on a nearby Roman Camp (Monument 1524583). All available aerial photographs of this area were examined, including those from the NMR, online sources, and the local HER. <1-2>
