Summary

A probable Bronze Age bowl barrow is visible as an earthwork and cropmark to the south of Buzbury Rings, Keyneston Down, Tarrant Keyneston, on aerial photographs. The feature is also recorded in the National Monuments Record (NRHE Hob UID 981703). It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

ST 9173 0540 (FCE) A rapid examination of air photography (1a) suggests the presence of a round barrow site, of the Prehistoric or Roman date, visible as a ring ditch cropmark south of Buzbury Rings. <1>

A probable Bronze Age bowl barrow is visible as an earthwork and cropmark to the south of Buzbury Rings, Keynston Down, Tarrant Keyneston, on aerial photographs <2-3>. It comprises a central mound aprroximately 10.7m in diameter and a surrounding 1m wide outer ditch. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
