Full Description
Banked linear features are visible as earthworks at Tarrant Rushton on Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features are within an area of former orchard MDO27160 but do not appear to correspond with the planting rows recorded on the OS 1st Edition map [2]. Their form suggests earlier field boundaries or plots - possibly tofts and crofts associated with an area of medieval shrunken village, although a later, post-medieval origin is also possible. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
