Summary

A partial D-shaped ditched enclosure is visible as a cropmark in a field to the east of Tarrant Rushton on an aerial photograph dated 2002. The feature may be an enclosure of later prehistoric date and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

St 93940512. Pentagonal? enclosure, area 0.3 ha., visible on air photographs, NW side not visible. In or near airfield with variety of modern marks. <1-2>

A partial D-shaped ditched enclosure is visible as a cropmark in a field to the east of Tarrant Rushton on an aerial photograph dated 2002 <3>. The feature measures approximately 75m long by 58m wide, and is near complete along its northeast, east and south sides, with two broken segments on its southwest side and an open section on its northwest side. The enclosure ditch is approximately 2.75m wide. The enclosure may be later prehistoric in date and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project. It is recorded in the National Monuments Record under NRHE Hob UID 869704.
