Full Description

A ditched boundary, of possible Prehistoric or Roman date, is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. The boundary extends for 285m in a NE-SW direction between ST 5940 1503 and ST 5957 1526. It is centred at ST 5948 1514. The boundary is cut by the road, and by a probably originally medieval field boundary, suggesting that the boundary is of pre-medieval date.

The cropmarks were interpreted and mapped during an English Heritage project on a nearby Roman Camp. All available aerial photographs of this area were examined, including those from the NMR, online sources, and the local HER. <1>
