Full Description

Roughly ST 887104. Whetstone and two bone pins or needles, from barrow on Stourpaine Down, went from Durden Collection to British Museum. <1>

No evidence of a barrow was found at Stourpaine Down. Most of the area is arable but no barrow circles are visible on available air photograph. <2>

‘A barrow at 88701191 has been destroyed in recent years. An unlocated barrow on Stourpaine Down yielded a whetstone and two bone pins (Durden Cat. Nos. 122, 137, 138).’
