Summary

A probable Bronze Age bowl barrow is visible as a cropmark in a field to the east of Tarrant Rushton on an aerial photograph dated 1976 and as an earthwork on Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

A probable Bronze Age bowl barrow is visible as a cropmark in a field to the east of Tarrant Rushton on an aerial photograph dated 1976 and as an earthwork on Environment Agency lidar imagery [1, 2]. The feature comprises an oval mound approximately 10.6m long by 9.3m wide, with a partial outer ditch, 1.2m wide, around its west, north and east sides. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
