Summary

A trackway is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs lidar imagery to the northeast of Big Almer Wood, Sturminster Marshall. It considered liikely to be a post medieval date and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Full Description

A trackway is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 [1] running northwards from the east end of Big Almer Wood, Sturminster Marshall. At it's southern end is a large post medieval chalk pit (MDO44212) which is possibly contemporary. The trackway is still extant on lidar imagery [2] and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
